Teaching

Lessons in Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo, Mandolin

I’ve taught for 25 years. “To teach is to learn” they say, and I’ve learned a lot!

My students span all ages and abilities. In my teaching philosophy, students are partners in the learning process – together we create a learning plan and strategy. For the very youngest beginning students, I have a series of lessons plans that are fun and effective.

You can take lessons with me several different ways:

  • Choose a convenient spot for private lessons from among several locations in Minneapolis/Saint Paul
  • Take lessons in the comfort of your own home
  • Contact me for information about upcoming group instruction

30/45/60 minute lessons available. Lesson fees vary by location, range is $25-$28 for a 30 minute lesson.

Internet Lessons:

If you are interested in lessons with me but don’t live in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area, you’re not out of luck! I offer lessons via streaming video (Skype or Facetime). Now, there are good and bad internet lessons. They’re different from in-room lessons, and I’ve  created an approach that maximizes the benefits of the technology while minimizing its limits. It’s working great, and today I have “Skype students” as far away as Sweden and Ireland!

cost: Lessons are 45 or 60 minutes. A 45 minute lesson is $30.
